About Stout Street
The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) is the parent organization for the Health Care for the Homeless Program, which is based out of Stout Street Clinic (SSC). The clinic opened in May, 1985, and medical students have been participating in this work since 1988. During that time, we have provided comprehensive health services to tens of thousands of persons in a highly effective holistic model of medicine.
For us the provision of health care means looking at those we serve as a whole, and responding to the full spectrum of their needs that are crucial for their long term health. Every day we see the toll that being homeless takes on the morbidity and mortality rates takes on the patients who come to Stout Street Clinic. Because of the complex needs of the homeless clients that we serve, we provide outreach, medical, mental health, substance abuse, social, housing and ongoing case management services.
