ABOUT ME:

Shandra Brown Levey, PhD was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.  She graduated with honors from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania majoring in both psychology and art therapy.  During her undergraduate education, she was inducted into Psy Chi, the international honor society in psychology.  Dr. Brown Levey then attained an M.S. in art therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. After working clinically for a year she went to Chicago, Illinois, to attain a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology.  She completed her internship at Park Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is currently working as a post-doctoral fellow in primary care psychology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Brown Levey lives in Westminster, Colorado with her husband; and enjoys snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving, volunteering and traveling. 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Dr. Brown Levey’s research interests include primary care psychology, cognitive vulnerability to depression, health changes and depressive symptomatology, neurocognitive bases of affective disorders and instrument validation.
