I am a passionate Research Support Assistant to
Perry Dickinson, Bonnie Jortberg and Doug Fernald. I help to support the
Program for Practice Improvement and Innovation project. My background is in
Health and Human Services and I have worked for several State and Federal
agencies and community non-profit organizations. I truly believe in holistic
health and the integration of Mental Health within Primary Care which is why I
am excited to be a part of the Department of Family Medicine Team.
My research interest includes the psychology,
sociology and health care philosophy of community service and public health
organizations. I personally believe that understanding the way people think can
be one of the greatest assets to health care. My experience working with
disadvantaged youth has led me to understand how mental health dramatically
impacts the entire family dynamic and overall health. This understanding leads
me to want to learn more and to do more to help provide awareness.
My professional activities and associations
includes Family Case Management for Arapahoe/Douglas County Government; Youth
Transitional Services for the US Department of Labor; and Background screening,
research, investigations and implementation of Child Abuse Protection Programs
for a non-profit organization. Other activities include being a Director of
Youth Sports, Mentor and Coach.
