ABOUT ME:

I came to the Rose Family Medicine Residency in October 2003 from Eisenhower Army Medical Center, in Augusta, Georgia, where I was teaching faculty at the Family Medicine residency program located there. While in the military, I served in many locations, to include several tours in Georgia, time in Wiesbaden, Germany, and time in Afghanistan. I completed my residency in Family Medicine at Martin Army Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia, in 1997, after graduating from medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I have been the Program Director for the Rose Program since 2006, after having held positions as both the medical director and the Associate Director. My interests include obstetrical ultrasound and leadership in medicine. I have authored articles on a wide variety of topics and have been an active contributor to the PEPID Primary Care Plus electronic education platform. I have completed fellowships in Leadership and Program Director Administration. Currently, I am the President of the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

I have been on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians since 2004 and was elected as the President for our organization for the 2009-2010 year.  Additionally, I serve on the Commission on Family Medicine as a board member, serve as the Treasurer for the Colorado Association of Family Medicine Residencies, and sit on numerous committees at Rose Medical Center. I am the Vice-Chair for Family Medicine at Rose Medical Center.
