In line with our Adaptive Oncogenesis Model, our lab has shown that previous IR exposure decreases the fitness of HSC relative to unirradiated control HSC, and that the oncogene intracellular Notch (ICN) is selected for within a previously irradiated environment, promoting leukemogenesis. My project centers on defining how IR exposure decreases HSC fitness, and how ICN resolves or circumvents the fitness defects of these cells, thereby driving leukemogenesis |
