University of Colorado Hospital supports clinical research with a full array of clinical imaging services, located in the Department of Radiology. Service include state of the art CT, Interventional, MRI, Mammography, PET.CT, SPECT/CT, Ultrasound and X-ray facilities as well as board certified sub-specialty radiologists and research physicists. UCH facilities have ACR accreditation and have recently received the designation as an NCI Center for Quantitative Imaging Excellence. Some examples of imaging research protocols currently being performed at UCH include:

  • Phase I - IV clinical trials involving RECIST and volumetric measures to assess cancer treatment outcomes utilizing Mammography, MRI, CT and PET imaging.
  • Clinical trials involving X-Ray, MRI, PET, US and CT measures of treatment effects for a variety of pathologies, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, mesothelloma, hemophilla and cardiovascular disease.
  • Pre and post transplant volumetric organ measurements from CT and MRI imaging.
  • Effectiveness of interventional techniques in the treatment of carcnoma
  • MRI, MRS and fMRI correlates of cognitive function
  • Efficacy of computer aided diagnostic (CAD) schemes for characterization of malignant nodules and masses
  • MRI guided interstitial laser ablation of prostate cancer
  • MRI measures of kidney volume in patients with ADPKD
  • Diagnostic testing strategies for suspected coronary artery disease, including use of coronary CT angiography (CTA)
  • Evaluation of FDG-PET assessment for Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
  • EAGER: The affects of aspirin in Gestation and Reproduction
