I chose this program because the appointed faculty specialize in a wide range of disciplines, there is a collaborative atmosphere and the curriculum is focused in the area of cancer biology.

What lab you joined and why:
I joined Scott Lucia's lab because I was interested in studying cancer from a unique perspective. Instead of studying cancer exclusively at the cellular or molecular level, our lab takes into account whole tissues and the complex interactions contained within.
Short description of your project:
I am investigating the role of the epithelial derived protein, prostate derived factor, in prostate cancer.

Basic science internship at the University of Arizona
