Why you chose the UC Denver Cancer Biology Program:
I came into the University of Colorado Denver Graduate School through the Biomedical Sciences Program. I discovered through that program my interest in cancer research and decided on the Cancer Biology Program after deciding on a lab. My PI had affiliations with both Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, but my interest lied more with Cancer Biology.

What lab you joined and why:
I joined Lynn Heasley's lab because it offered me the perfect combination of a project that interested me and a lab environment that was both comfortable and compatible with my learning style.
Short description of your project:
I am investigating the role of the onogene KRAS in cell signaling, particularly in lung cancers.

Calvin College
Major, Biology

What you did (if anything) between undergraduate and graduate
school:
I entered directly to graduate school, and got married over the intervening summer.

What you like to do outside of school:
Hiking, camping, cooking, baking and paper crafts.
What is your favorite thing about Colorado?
The weather! I also like the close proximity of a great metropolitan area with a great mountain wilderness area.
