Why you chose the UC Denver Cancer Biology Program:
I chose the UC Denver Cancer Biology Program because I liked the way the courses were set up, there faculty here does interesting research, the location is great and the people that make up the program are helpful and fun to be around.
What labs are you rotating in:
I am currently rotating in Paul Jedlicka's Lab.
Short description of your project:
I am studying p85a lpha and p55 in Ewing Sarcoma.
Where you attended undergraduate and what your major / minor(s) were:
I attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where I earned a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology B.S., a Cell Biology/Molecular Biology B.S., and a Chemistry B.A..
What you did (if anything) between undergraduate and graduate school:
I did plant research on nectaries during the summer between graduating and starting graduate school.
Other school affiliated activities / clubs you are involved in:
I play in Melomania the AMC school orchestra.
What you like to do outside of school:
I enjoy doing things outside, reading, decorating cakes and spending time with friends.
What is your favorite thing about Colorado?
My favorite thing about Colorado is the diversity. There are some many different things to do, foods to try and people to meet. You can go skiing or hiking in the mountains or you can relax at a concert or sporting event.
