Why you chose the UC Denver Cancer Biology Program:
I have been working as researcher at UCDenver since 2009. I came here as a research scholar and then continue to work as a student assistant. Hence, I got the chance to see the work that we do here, which truly interests me to join the PhD program at UCDenver. Also, it is oncology that always fascinates me, and so I felt that joining a cancer biology program would serve as a strong foundation for me to understand the fundamental of cancer biology and expose me to the many different aspects of cancer research.

What lab you joined and why:
I joined Carol Sartorius lab because of the research they do in lab. Also, The people are very talented and supportive.
Short description of your project:
My main focus is to understand the cross talk between RAR-RXR and PR in luminal breast cancer. Where you attended undergraduate and what your major / minor(s) were: Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, India BS, Medical Technology
What you did (if anything) between undergraduate and graduate school:
Before joining the program here, I did my Master’s in Medical Biotechnology from India and my second Master’s in Molecular Biology from Sweden.
What you like to do outside of school:
Outside of school I love to travel and explore new places.
What is your favorite thing about Colorado?
The weather and mountains.
