Hearing Acoustics and Perception (HAPlab)

Principal Investigator: Melinda Anderson, PhD, CCC-A

The HAPlab examines how sound perception changes over the course of a lifetime.  Our primary population of interest is adults, but our work is applicable across the lifespan.  We explore the impact of hearing loss, changes in cognitive status, and aging on sound localization, speech understanding, and sound quality perception. We are interested in how hearing aid signal processing and the use of cochlear implants impacts these areas of perception.
