Dr. Petrash is the Director of Research in the Department of Ophthalmology. With research funding from the National Eye Institute, Dr. Petrash is spearheading studies to develop novel medicines to prevent blindness caused by cataracts and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Petrash is building a state-of-the-art vision research center involving faculty scientists drawn from campuses throughout the University of Colorado system.
