Curriculum Vitae

Doctor Vikram D. Durairaj is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is the Associate Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Program and Director of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Colorado. He also serves as the Co-Director of Medical School Education in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Dr. Durairaj graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1995. He was elected in Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Dr. Durairaj completed his Internship at Georgetown University and his Residency at the University of Colorado. He completed his 2-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Since joining the faculty at the University at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Dr. Durairaj has given over 200 invited national and international lectures and courses, published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters, and abstracts, and presented his research at national and international meetings.  He has served as editor and reviewer for 18 scholarly publications. 

EYE CONDITIONS:

Eyelid Malposition, Facial Skin Cancer, Diseases of the Tear Drainage System, Thyroid Eye Disease, Facial Trauma, and Orbital Tumors in Adult and Pediatric Patients. Dr. Durairaj’s research and clinical interests include cosmetic eyelid surgery, thyroid eye disease, eyelid and orbital tumors, and eyelid and orbital trauma and reconstruction.

Cosmetic Eyelid and Facial Surgery, Eyelid and Orbital Reconstruction, Tear Drainage System Surgery, Facial Trauma Surgery, Treatment for the Loss of an Eye.
