Program Description:

A national 3-day cadaveric dissection training course in Skull Base/Endoscopic Surgical Techniques will be held in the CSI Laboratory, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This is an invitiational course taught by world-class experts in skull base and cranial endoscopy to senior resident teams, combining Neurosurgery and Otolaryngolgy. This course offers an intensive review of the techical nuances involved with skull base procedures including comprehensive 3-D anatomy and 3-D surgical video presentations. Participants will recieve didactics and hands on instructions on traditional skull base approaches and endonasal and transcranial endocopy including indications, techniques, outcomes complications avoidance and management.

Program Objectives:

As a result of participation in this course, participants will be able to:

·         Learn microsurgical anatomy of the skull base

·         integrate anatomical knowledgw eith the main surgical approaches to the skull base

·         Identify the indiciations for cranial endoscopy

·         Learn the different endoscopic techniques including complications avoidance

·         Identify indiciations for endoscopic asisted mocrosurgery and key hole approaches

·         Discuss the nuances of techniques for manageing the different challenging pathologyies
