Sections and Programs are approved, organized units within the Department that are intended to foster clinical, educational, research, and a professional entrepreneurial advancements for dedicated areas of academic expertise. 

 

Section of Wilderness and Environmental Medicine

Mission: to advance the knowledge and practice of Wilderness Medicine by providing high quality instruction, research and service for our students, fellows, colleagues, the WM profession and the surrounding community. 
 
The Wilderness Medicine Section offers a robust educational program with undergraduate as well as continuing education courses and a postgraduate fellowship.

​Section of Medical Toxicology and Pharmacology

 

Vision: To enhance the care of poisoned patient by training specialists in toxicology, investigating new treatment and assuring that patient care is guided by providers with specialized training.

 

The Section of Toxicology's website is under construction and will soon be available.

Point-of-Care Ultrasound

 
The Point-of-Care Ultrasound branch at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is dedicated to the education of providers at all levels. We conduct education and outcomes research, and oversee the administration and establishment of clinical care competency in point-of-care. We are committed to the department mission to provide superlative patient care.
 
The branch is excited to announce two new hands on experiences in Point-of-Care Ultrasound: Ultrafest, a FREE one-day symposium for medical students, and an Undergraduate Course for premedical students.
