Dr. Browne is an Attending Physician and Director of Emergency Ultrasound Education for the Emergency Department at University of Colorado Hospital. He is actively involved in Ultrasound Education in the School of Medicine, Emergency Medicine Residency Program, and the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship program at Denver Health. He is part of an interdisciplinary team who co-developed the curriculum and content for ultrasound education in the School of Medicine, and the Special Operator Level Clinical Ultrasound (SOLCUS) curriculum for the Special Operations Medical Forces Training Program. In addition, he is a scientist at the Altitude Research Center who studies physiologic responses to acute and long‑term hypoxia. His research has been mainly focused on acute mountain sickness, and complications of pregnancy at high altitude.

Dr. Browne serves as Faculty Sponsor for the local Student National Medical Association chapter, and is a member of the School of Medicine Admissions Executive Advisory Committee, where he is passionately involved in promoting excellence and diversity at all levels of medical education. He mentors medical students in the Foundations of Doctoring and Mentored Scholarly Activity programs, and was the recipient of the 2011 Golden Stethoscope Award for Excellence in Clinical Education, and 2012 Department of Emergency Medicine Outstanding Physician Award.
