Clinical Trials Manager
Senior Professional Research Assistant
University of Colorado School of Medicine
Department of Dermatology
Jody Myers joined UCD’s Department of Dermatology as the
Clinical Trials Manager in 2014. Although her path has deviated from her
original plan of improving the world through political action, as prepared by
her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she is very happy to have continued
her education in her realm of choice by earning a Master of Health Services
Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Since pursuing a career in health care, she has worked for
several public and private entities in reproductive and sexual health. She started by assisting the Denver STD/HIV
Prevention Training Center to educate clinicians to diagnose and manage STDs
and most recently worked in HIV research with the Children’s Hospital Immunodeficiency
Program (CHIP). These experiences were
interspersed with others in waste and energy consulting, political campaigning,
and health research preparation.
Jody is continually amazed by the complexity of the human
body and its ability to express emotional and mental experiences, realities,
and perceptions. Thus her primary research
interests lie in the physical manifestations of thoughts and emotions. For instance, why and how does stress
frequently lead to worsening psoriatic symptoms?
Outside Jody’s efforts to support dermatology research, she enjoys
playing with and rehabilitating companion animals, reading, and spending time
with friends and family.
