April W Armstrong, MD, MPH

 

Dr. April Armstrong is Vice Chair of Clinical Research, Director of Clinical Trials and Outcomes Research, and Director of Psoriasis Program at Department of Dermatology, University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Armstrong has expertise in psoriasis, outcomes research, and technology-enabled delivery of healthcare.  She obtained Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School and completed dermatology residency at Harvard Dermatology Residency Program. Dr. Armstrong also obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to joining UC Denver, Dr. Armstrong served as Vice Chair of Clinical Research and Director of the Psoriasis Clinic at University of California Davis. Read more
David Norris, MD

 

Dr. David Norris is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is an internationally renowned investigator in cutaneous immunology, cell biology, and melanoma research. He has been on the faculty of the University of Colorado for 37 years and has supervised 25 trainees, many of whom have entered academic careers. He is Director of the NIAMS-funded P30 Skin Diseases Research Core Center at the University of Colorado Denver. This NIAMS supported Research Center is a consortium of 49 investigators, managed by Drs. Norris and Roop.    Read more
Mayumi Fujita, MD, PhD

 

Dr. Mayumi Fujita is a dermatologist who specializes in psoriasis and melanoma. She obtained M.D. from Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine in Japan and completed dermatology residency at Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine.  She also obtained PhD in skin immunology at Kyoto University Faculty of Medicine.  Dr. Fujita came to the US to complete Dermatology Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at University of Colorado.  She then repeated an internal medicine internship and a dermatology residency training at University of Washington.  Read more
Whitney High, MD, JD, MEng

 

Dr. High is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist.  He received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.  After spending some time in industry, he returned to medical school to earn his degree from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards in dermatology and dermatopathology, and is widely regarded for the quality of his work in both fields.  Read more
Liron Caplan, MD, PhD

 

Dr. Liron Caplan is a rheumatologist who specializes in psoriatic arthritis and the broader category of spondyloarthritis. He obtained M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency at Emory University. Dr. Caplan completed Rheumatology Fellowship and Rheumatology Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Washington University. He completed a PhD in Health Services Research at University of Colorado Denver.  Read more
Ehrin Armstrong, MD, MSc, MAS

 

Dr. Ehrin Armstrong earned his M.D. in 2004 from Harvard Medical School (magna cum laude) and his Master of Science in biotechnology in 2002 from the University of Ulster. He now serves several different appointments to the VA Medical Center and Eastern CO healthcare system as the Director of Interventional Cardiology as well as the Co-Director of the Vascular Laboratory. At the University of Colorado, Dr. Armstrong serves as a Visiting Professor of Medicine and the Associate Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. Read more
Xiao-Jing Wang, MD, PhD

 

Xiao-Jing Wang received her M.D. (1984) and Ph.D. (1989) from Beijing Medical University, the most prestigious medical school in China. She came to the United States for her postdoctoral training at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1990.  In 1992, she joined Dr. Dennis Roop’s laboratory as a Research Associate at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.  In 2003, she was recruited to Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) as a tenured Full Professor in Otolaryngology, Director of Molecular Biology-Head and Neck Cancer Research Division.  In Aug., 2008, Dr. Wang was recruited to University of Colorado Denver (UCD) as a Director of Head & Neck Cancer Program.  Read more
Qinghong Zhang, PhD

 

Dr. Qinghong Zang earned her Ph.D. in physiological chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1997. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Science in 1991 from the University of Science & Technology of China. In addition, she has accumulated more than three years of post-doctoral education at the Vollum Institute in Oregon. As a teacher, she has served as a lecturer in Cancer Biology and a Mentor for a number of PhD students. Presently, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at the University of Colorado.  Read more
Chase Cameron, MPH

 

Chase Cameron joined Colorado Health Outcomes as a Professional Research Assistant in 2014. He has worked in clinical nutrition departments at a number of area hospitals.  In December of 2013, Chase completed his Master of Public Health at Oregon State University, where he studied Health Policy and Management. During that time, Chase also contributed research for a grant proposal in simulation-based neonatal resuscitation training.  He is currently assisting Dr. Russell Glasgow of COHO and Dr. April Armstrong of Dermatology in their research.  Read more
Jody Myers, MHSA

 

Jody Myers joined UCD’s Department of Dermatology as the Clinical Trials Manager in 2014.  Although her path has deviated from her original plan of improving the world through political action, as prepared by her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she is very happy to have continued her education in her realm of choice by earning a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
