The University of Colorado Dermatopathology Consultants perform a variety of dermatopathology services including evaluation of wet tissue, electron microscopy, consultative opinions, and direct and indirect immunofluorescence. We offer advanced immunohistochemical analysis of skin biopsies, with 143 available immunohistochemical stains and in-situ hybridization for selected disorders. Our facility is certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Ammendments (CLIA).
The Section of Dermatopathology currently has six teaching faculty who assist in training Dermatology residents in the subspecialty. Dr. Whitney High is the Director of CU Dermatopathology Consultants. Dr. James E. Fitzpatrick is the Co-Director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship.
