Description: This is a Genentech-sponsored multi-center Phase I clinical trial to evaluate anti-cancer effects of a novel vascular-disruptive agent MINT1526A, alone and in combination with the FDA-approved anti-angiogenic agent bevacizumab, using novel vessel-size imaging (VSI MRI) as a pharmacodynamic end-point. Patients who qualify (liver, lung, or pelvic metastatic lesions measured as >2 cm, but <8 cm) and consent to MRI, will undergo a total of four scanning sessions: two baseline scans (one T2-w VSI MRI with iron-oxide nanoparticles and 48 hr later one T1-w DCE-MRI scan with conventional gadolinium contrast) and two on-treatment scans (Day 15 of Cycle 1). Changes in the vessel size and tumor vascularity by MRI will be correlated with patients’ RECIST reads.

Title: Peripartum Cardiac Output and Stroke Volume in Healthy Pregnant Patients Undergoing Cesarean or Vaginal Delivery
Description: We will be analyzing 30 healthy (ASA I-II),18-35 year old parturients undergoing either cesarean delivery (primary or repeat) with neuraxial anesthesia or vaginal delivery with epidural analgesia. Using NICOMTM non-invasive technology (evaluation of aortic blood flow phase shifts of propagating waves, which are detected and processed by skin sensors), we will measure cardiac output and stroke volume prior to the placement of the neuraxial anesthetic either for cesarean or vaginal delivery. We will obtain continuous data through delivery and 1 hour postpartum.
