
The CA-3 year is arranged on an individual basis. The resident will complete their required concentrated exposure to all anesthetic subspecialties, (e.g. pain management, cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, obstetric, and pediatric anesthesia) with consolidation of other anesthetic experiences. The CA-3 resident will become self-sufficient in the operating room, and will also develop presentation skills by contributing to the didactic activities of the department. Residents may also participate in research.
Rotations
Scheduled to complete required rotations, optimize case numbers, and pursue areas of
interest for career development. It includes:
1 month Ambulatory Regional Anesthesia
1 month Neuroanesthesia
1 month Cardiothoracic ICU
1 month Pediatric Anesthesia
1 month Obstetric Anesthesia
1 month Pain Medicine
The remaining six months are scheduled to optimize the resident's educational experience.
