Welcome to the
University of Colorado School of Medicine Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA)
Program. Matriculating our first class in the fall of 2013, we officially
became the 9th program of its kind in the United States, and are excited for
the opportunity to contribute to a growing field of healthcare providers.
Please take a moment to
explore our website and learn a more about our program, its faculty, and our
current students. You’ll find that the CU AA Program is unique in that it is
has a core curriculum taught by a variety of practicing Anesthesia providers
that include MDs, AAs, and CRNAs; it offers access to world-class clinical
facilities and simulation laboratories'; and is housed within the top academic
healthcare center in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Because the CU AA
Program is housed on the Anschutz Medical
Campus with walking-distance access to both University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s
Hospital Colorado, we are able to offer 28 months of
intensive didactic curricula designed by expert faculty, and complemented by
clinical rotations through a variety of subspecialties, including pediatrics,
trauma, orthopedics, regional anesthesia, neuro and OB. In addition to the
offerings immediately available on campus, top-performing students will have
the chance during their second year to rotate in clinical settings all along
the Front Range.
