Program Description:
Our laboratory is part of a
multi-disciplinary prostate research program. Prostate cancer continues to be
the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer
deaths in males. The clinical management of men with prostate cancer presents
some unique challenges. Our laboratory focusses on the development and
validation of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers that can aid the clinician
in the management of patients presenting in the clinic.
The student will have
the opportunity to be involved in bench work, study design, data collection,
and data analysis. In addition the student will be expected to attend and
participate in educational conferences and laboratory meetings to enhance their
education and knowledge on prostate cancer and the workings of a research
laboratory.
