Colorado Colorectal Screening Program Staff


Andrea (Andi) Dwyer, BS, Co-Director

Andrea (Andi) Dwyer is the Co-Director of the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and Program Director at the Colorado School of Public Health. Andi was a key member of the team who developed and implemented patient navigation of the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program (the Program), one of the largest screening and early detection navigation programs in the country. She has worked for nearly ten years in the area of colorectal cancer prevention and health promotion and authored several papers in the field. Andi is also an instructor for the Colorado Patient Navigation Training. She serves as the Project Director for the Colorado Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network, jointly funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) and is working in the area of dissemination and implementation research.  Andi is the out-going chair of the Colorado Colorectal Task Force and Co-Chair of Scientific and Evidence Based Health Interventions of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable. She also serves as the Director of Health Promotion for Fight Colorectal Cancer, focusing on research and patient education.

Dennis Ahnen
, MD, Chair, Medical quality Assurance Committee (MQAC)


Dr. Ahnen completed his Medical School Training at Wayne State University, completed a Medical Residency and Chief Residency at H​utzel Hospital both in Detroit Michigan, completed his Fellowship at the University of Colorado in Gastroenterology and completed a Membrane Pathobiology Fellowship at Stanford University.  Dr. Ahnen is currently a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. His research interest is in understanding the process of colorectal cancer and its prevention. His laboratory has conducted both basic and clinical investigations related to this issue. Additionally, Dr. Ahnen currently has 5 active grants from the National Cancer Institute and has published over 250 basic science and clinical papers. Dr. Ahnen serves at the chair of the Medical Quality Assurance Committee for the Program and provides clinical guidance related to CRC screening and treatment issues.

Holly Wolf, PhD, MSPH, Program Director

Holly received her Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College, Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin and Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Colorado, Denver, School of Medicine. Holly currently directs the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program for the medical underserved.  She is also the principal investigator, project epidemiologist and/or project manager for several research and public health service programs fo​cusing on cancer prevention and control including several assessments around cancer screening and the delivery of care. Additionally, Holly is an assistant professor in Community and Behavioral Health and Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health and teaches community health assessment, program evaluation and project management. Her professional interests include public health and health reform, especially as it relates to chronic disease prevention and control and community mobilization. Holly is an active member of state and national coalitions, including the Colorado Cancer Coalition, serving as past Chair and executive committee member, as well as the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable steering committee and Co-Chair of the Policy Task force.  Holly believes it is a very exciting time to increase the role o​f public health in improving the health of Americans.


Lori Workman, Accounting Services Coordinator


Lori has 25 years of public education accounting experience with the Department of Education in California.  Currently her focus with the Program is provider billing, grant accounting and general fiscal services. Lori has always felt that her job was to be t​he best mother she could be and working “just allowed us to have fun!” She is the mother of 2 beautiful, highly successful daughters and grandmother of one “princess in training.” Lori’s professional interests include interior design, home staging and creative arts. 


Shannon Pray, MSPH, Evaluation Coordinator

Shannon has a Master of Science in Public Health degree in Epidemiology from Emory University. Her background is in math and biology. Before joining the Program in 20​11, Shannon worked in evaluation in tobacco at the University of Colorado. She also has experience working for the State Health Department in outbreak investigation and with the CDC in both Asthma and Tube​rculosis surveillance programs. Currently, Shannon fields all the eCaST questions, helps with updates to the eCaST system, runs the data analyses and writes many of the reports produced by the Program.

Nicole Harty, BS, MPH, Program Coordinator
Nicole joined the Program in 2015 while a student at the Colorado School of Public Health. She received her MPH with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health in May 2016 and coordinates training, evaluation, and program expansion efforts for CCSP. Her background is in neuroscience research and education, and she also works in community programs evaluation with the Colorado School of Public Health.


 Kirstin Le Grice, MPH, Patient Navigation Coordinator

 Kirstin received her Master of Public Health from the Colorado School of Public  Health with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health in May 2015. Her  primary duties include helping with the facilitation of the program and providing  technical assistance to CCSP’s patient navigators. This includes conducting site  visits, leading  trainings, onboarding new navigators, and searching for linkages to  other preventive  programs. Prior to joining the team in October 2016, Kirstin  worked as a  program coordinator and client advocate for a nonprofit that  provided free monthly wellness clinics to Denver’s low income and medically underserved seniors. Kirstin also holds a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Colorado.
