The Art of Growing Grants
We believe knowledge is the first, best way to make a difference when it comes to improving health and health care. Through grants, collaboration, and deliberate mentoring, we support scientists whose work promises to contribute to our collective knowledge regarding women’s health and sex differences.
Our development grants help scientists test, refine, and expand ideas. In our model, smaller grants help create knowledge that attracts major federal and other research grant funding.
Every dollar we invest in seed grants has yielded more than $40 dollars in external research grants. Since the inception of the CWHR in 2004, $1.6 million has been awarded to 60 junior faculty who have gone on to receive over $64 million in external funding.
