CWHR Research Development Award
The Center for Women's Health Research is mission-driven. Training the next generation of scientists and physician-scientists in the study of women's health is an essential component of our mission.
A small research "seed" grant for young scientists and physician-scientists can be the building block that leads to larger research grants. Hypotheses get tested. New avenues of discovery are opened. Scientific breakthroughs occur. Answers are found. Life quality improves. Lives are saved.
The Center for Women's Health Research is the sponsor of a one-year competitive $25,000 CWHR Junior Faculty Research Development Award. This award will support the career development of an exceptional junior faculty member at the University of Colorado Denver whose research is focused on cardiovascular disease and/or diabetes in women.
Eligible applicants may be performing basic, clinical, translational, prevention or epidemiology/ health services research, and must have a mentor. This award competition is funded for four years.
Competition details will be publicized internally each spring. The award recipient and research topic will be announced at the Center's Annual Fall Luncheon.

Dr. Nadeau's research focuses on insulin resistance, obesity, and type 2 diabetes in children and gender differences related to insulin resistance. She also is examining whether children with type 2 diabetes have diminished exercise capacity.
