Anschutz Medical Campus

| The former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO., is being transformed into Colorado's $4.3 billion "Square Mile of Life Sciences," dedicated to life science research, education, and patient care. The project is anchored by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and its affiliated University of Colorado Hospital's new 217-acre campus and the adjacent 160-acre Fitzsimons Life Sciences District, the first university-affiliated "biopark" to be developed west of the Mississippi.

Nowhere else in the nation is there another university health sciences center and affiliated hospital with a 21st century academic health center-of which the Center for Women's Health Research is a part-that is being build from the ground up, bringing with it remarkable opportunities to:
-
Revolutionize health sciences education, research, and patient care;
-
Attract top students and world-class physicians and scientists; and
-
Provide opportunities for researchers to work with private biotechnology and bioscience companies at Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora to speed new discoveries from the laboratory to the patient's bedside and with the University of Colorado's Technology Transfer Office in transforming laboratory results to commercial value.
