Junior Faculty Researchers

The Center for Women’s Health Research (CWHR) currently has eighteen junior faculty engaged in women’s health research in the areas of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Junior faculty of the CWHR are funded based on writing a strong scientific project as well as showing promise in their career trajectories. In addition, the work of these junior faculty must be related to the study of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and/or diabetes in women. In addition, all faculty at this level must have a primary mentor and a good mentorship plan.

Since the inception of the Center for Women's Health Research, $380,000 has been awarded to junior faculty in the form of research grants. This same group of researchers, mentored by the Center's senior faculty, has gone on to receive nearly $24 million in external grant funding.
