A comprehensive faculty from University of Colorado Hospital creates the foundation of CSI. The location is at the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine, which is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility, twelve miles from Denver International Airport. The triad of our wide-ranging surgical faculty, a modern health science center campus and our location in a tourist destination in the center of the United States provides a powerful combination to create a nationally prominent surgical training center. CSI is a high-volume and busy facility as surgeons from hospitals across the nation and the world come to CU to receive their surgical training. As a result of the progress in promoting surgical education, the University of Colorado School of Medicine awarded CSI dedicated space adjacent to the medical school’s anatomy labs. Acquisition of the new lab represents support for CSI by the collaboration of five surgical departments representing fifteen surgical divisions.
