Colorado Mile High Camp Program

Beginning in August of 2011 The University of Colorado Denver Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center will start the process of transitioning the responsibilities of the Colorado Mile High Camp program over to The Colorado Chapter of The National Hemophilia Foundation.  For Camp 2012 the Chapter will take over the fundraising aspects to support the program, provide application forms on its website and provide some staff time.  The HTC will continue to maintain partnership & contracts with Easter Seals of Colorado & The Breckenridge Outdoor Educational Center, provide clinical staff time during camp, provide the majority of administrative staff time dealing with application forms, provide all contact with camp families, hire volunteers, provide clinical training for Easter Seals staff and will continue to sponsor the program through 340B pharmacy funding.  While the majority of program duties will eventually fall to the Chapter, let it be clear that the HTC will always maintain a high investment in camp.  The HTC will continue to provide clinical care and education during camp, physician care during camp and 340B pharmacy funding to support the camp program after the transition.  The complete transition is expected to take several years.  Both organizations ask for your understanding and patience while we try to make this as seamless as possible.
