The Colorado Center for Health and Wellness is slated to open in April 2012. It will offer state-of-the-art research, education and wellness services in one facility on the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus.
Our mission is to empower individuals, communities and organizations to make sustainable changes. The goal is to achieve healthier lifestyles and reduce obesity and rates of weight-related chronic diseases.
Our Team
All research and programs at the Colorado Center will be led by Dr. James O. Hill, an international leader in the global fight against obesity. He leads a multidisciplinary team of respected researchers and scientists. Click here to meet the other team members.
About Us
The 94,000-square-foot LEED-certified Anschutz Wellness Building, located at the corner of East Montview Boulevard and Peoria Street, anchors the Colorado Center for Health and Wellness.
The Center features:
- Research labs and equipment for cutting-edge scientific studies on nutrition and wellness
- State-of-the-art fitness facility, including classes, running track, aquatics and degreed fitness professionals
- Human performance training and sports nutrition led by Dr. Iñigo San Millán, a world leader in exercise physiology
- A bistro that will serve healthy food, available for eat-in, take-out or delivery
- Classes and cooking workshops on healthy diets with leading nutritionists and endocrinologists
- Connective wellness services, including weight management and nutrition services, disease prevention programs, massage therapy, mindfulness training, acupuncture and wellness education
