primary clinical and research interests are in behavioral and psychosocial
aspects of care in youth with type 1 diabetes. My fellowship research project
involved looking at barriers to implementing depression screening in clinic. I
currently have a NIH/NIDDK K12 award to continue and expand on behavioral and
psychosocial research, including depression, high risk patients, and patient
experience with advanced technologies (such as the artificial pancreas).
able to work with families and patients throughout their childhood is one of
the best parts of working in the diabetes field. Each patient and family is
unique, and my passion is to continuously strive to ensure my patients receive
the best care possible for their individual and unique diabetes needs.
