Opportunities to Help the School of Medicine


The School of Medicine appreciates your support. You can donate to the school through the CU Foundation or see below for a list of alumni funds:

School of Medicine Endowment - To be used to support the Medical School at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus at the Dean's discretion. Gifts to quasi endowments are invested and distributions pursuant to the CU Foundation's Spending Policy are available for the fund purpose. However, under circumstances described in the fund documents, all or a portion of a quasi endowment may also be appropriated for the fund purpose.

School of Medicine Dean's Endowed Chair- To provide support for the Dean's Chair and activities associated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus in honor of Richard D. Krugman, MD.

Medical Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment Fund - To provide scholarships for medical students at the University of Colorado School of Medicine based on merit and financial need.  

Medical Alumni Association Stethoscope Fund – To provide support for a stethoscope for an incoming first year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

School of Medicine Fund – To support School of Medicine activities at the University of Colorado.

Medical Alumni Gift Fund – To provide support to programs and activities of the Medical Alumni Association.

School of Medicine Diversity Scholarships - Scholarships to promote diversity within the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Student Organized Scholarships - To provide support for Medical Student Scholarships at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Class of 1982 Endowment Fund - To support scholarships at the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Class of 1952 Endowment Fund – Beginning in 2052, distributions are to be used to advance the mission of the School of Medicine through scholarships, loans, endowed faculty positions, projects, research, etc. Pure endowments exist into perpetuity and are invested accordingly.

Class of 1959 Fund – To support student scholarships and the historic preservation of memorabilia and artifacts pertaining to the School of Medicine and the Medical Alumni Association.

Class of 1955, 1956 and 1957 Endowment – To support an endowment to provide medical scholarships to students at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in perpetuity.

Class of 1967 Endowment Fund - To provide support for a designated School of Medicine priority area as determined by the Class of 1967 at the 50th class reunion.

Cynthia Hampson Class of 1991 Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support to medical students in third year anesthesia clerkships with the intent to pursue anesthesia at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Pure endowments exist into perpetuity and are invested accordingly. Distributions pursuant to the CU Foundation's Spending Policy are available for the fund purpose.

F.A. "Gus"  Garcia, MD, Distinguished Physician High Plains Walking Stick Award - To provide support for an award to honor and recognize outstanding rural physicians at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Gifts to quasi endowments are invested and distributions pursuant to the CU Foundation’s Spending Policy are available for the fund purpose. However, under circumstances described in the fund documents, all or a portion of a quasi endowment may also be appropriated for the fund purpose.
