Paws for Smiles

A CU School of Dental Medicine wellness initiative called Paws for Smiles allows our patients, students, residents, staff and faculty to de-stress with therapy dog ambassadors. These special events occur on Wednesdays 1-3 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m.-Noon in the SDM clinic waiting rooms and the common building spaces on levels 1, 2, and 3. Please let your provider know if you are dog-sensitive.

Why Choose a Dental School

The CU School of Dental Medicine provides more than 100,000 clinical visits each year at our state-of-the-art facility on the Anschutz Medical Campus and across the state of Colorado. The CU School of Dental Medicine provides high-quality care just like a great private practice, but there are some differences and many advantages:

When you’re a patient at a CU dental clinic, you receive the highest standards of care based on the latest techniques and technology in dentistry. Our dental students and residents work with expert faculty and specialists to provide you with the best dental care possible.

At the CU faculty practice clinics, you can expect standard prices and appointment times, along with comprehensive care from experienced dentists and specialists. However, Health First Colorado is not currently accepted at these clinics.

Our faculty practice clinics include:

  • The Dental Faculty Practice is your one-stop solution for convenient dental care provided by our skilled faculty. Call 303-724-5505 to schedule an appointment.
  • The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic performs comprehensive care such as tooth extractions and surgical treatment of injuries and malformations. Medical insurance and Medicare are accepted in some cases. Call 303-724-4672 to schedule an appointment.

Fees are up to 50 percent less than local private practices. While each patient's cost will vary, these examples show typical savings:

Average Private Practice Student Clinic Fees
Dentures $1600-2000 Dentures $500-700
Root Canals $900-1200 Root Canals $300-500
Crowns $900-1500 Crown $500-700
