The School of Dental Medicine held their annual Fall Student Research Competition Friday September 28th. Students who presented their extracurricular research projects represented many different disciplines focused on dental research. From craniofacial development to dental resins the student researchers of the School of Dental Medicine demonstrated the importance of innovation and research to improve patient care and the field of Dentistry. Three students were selected to present their research projects to represent Colorado School of Dental Medicine Research at national and international research venues.
Congratulations to the three representatives who will represent our school at national/international research conferences later this academic year!
Marisol King (DSIII) will present her research project at the Dental Students’ Conference on Research sponsored by the ADA at NIDCR and Paffenbarger Research Center at NIST. Marisol’s project title is “The role of Ece1 in zebrafish craniofacial development.” Her advisor is Dr. David Cloutier.
Igor Traktinskiy (DSI) will represent the School of Dental Medicine at the IADR/AADR/CADR Meeting in Seattle, Washington. His Project title is ‘”The role of PKC in cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage in ParC5 cells.” His advisor is Dr. Mary Reyland.
Jacob Ramirez (DSI) will present his research at Midwest Regional Student Research Conference in Iowa City, Iowa. The title of his project is “Control of polymeric nanoparticle synthesis for enhanced performance of resin dispersed reactive nanogel additives.” His advisor is Dr. Jeffrey Stansbury.
