The School of Dental Medicine was pleased to host over 50 Black Male Initiative Summit Scholars during a recent visit to the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Current DDS students and members of the school's student life office offered the scholars hands-on experiences in the simulation laboratory.

"We know that hands-on learning is one of the best ways to orient students to a career in the health professions," stated Senior Associate Dean Samantha Moreno, PhD. "That's why were to so pleased to welcome the scholars into our simulation labs last month, it was a great opportunity to expose new students to careers in dentistry."

Along with the dental school's activities, scholars were welcomed to campus by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion Brenda Allen, PhD, visited the School of Medicine's Center for Advancing Professional Excellence, and met with students and alumni from medicine, pharmacy and public health.
