Advising

Our graduate advisors are here to help

As soon as possible after being admitted, students should schedule an appointment with a graduate academic advisor to discuss general degree requirements. Advisors will also help determine if any background coursework may be required and if any common body of knowledge courses might be waived for an MS degree. Please note that no waivers are possible in the MBA program but students may request to substitute higher-level courses for the MBA core based on prior academic coursework. The advisors will also help you through the final process when preparing to graduate.

Graduation Requirements

In order to meet the graduation requirements, you must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. All University of Colorado Denver Business graduate courses are computed in the cumulative graduate business GPA.

Your approved transfer hours and grades from other institutions, including University of Colorado courses taken at the Boulder or Colorado Springs campuses are not computed in the graduate business GPA, although degree credit is awarded.

Any grade below a C (2.0) is a failing grade for graduate business courses. Graduate students must repeat a required course for which they have received a grade below C. Both the original grade and the grade earned when repeating the course count in the computation of the graduate business GPA. If you receive a grade below C in an elective course, you may repeat the same elective course or select another. Both grades will be calculated into your cumulative GPA.

Fill out the intent to graduate form online. You must apply for graduation by completing the application to graduate in the student portal between the first day of registration and the last day to add/drop in the semester you intend to graduate.
