The RMI Program is unique in offering our students numerous opportunities to network with RMI industry professionals while they earn their degree.
In an effort to introduce students to the Risk Management and Insurance industry, each semester the RMI Program hosts a Shadow Day event. Local companies host our students for a half day to a day-long experience. Employers range from small local companies to large international firms. This event is open to all CU Denver students interested in learning more about the industry.

All RMI undergraduate students must complete an RMI internship
to fulfill their graduation requirements. Graduate students are encouraged to do an RMI internship. Students are paired with an
employer that matches the student’s interest and the employer’s needs.
Most of the internships are paid positions. Some RMI internships have
led to part-time and full-time jobs for students.
Our industry partners generously support the RMI Program with many scholarships ranging up to $3500. Approximately, $40,000 is available to RMI students each year!
Attendance at RMI Industry Events
CU Denver RMI students are invited to become members of RMI industry associations. Students can attend a variety of RMI industry events including monthly meetings and national conferences with all expenses paid. These industry groups include RIMS, CPCU, PRIMA, RMIIA, PIIAC and GARP. These provide excellent networking and educational opportunities.
