Degree Requirements | MS in Taxation

The MS in Taxation requires 30 semester hours of coursework, including 12 hours of required courses and 18 semester hours of elective courses. 


Students may also have to complete a Tax prerequisite course of three credit hours (Tax Planning for Managers).  An advisor will evaluate prior coursework to determine whether this prerequisite can be waived.

The MS in Taxation may include subjects such as:

  • Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders
  • Tax Practice and Procedure
  • Research Problems in Taxation
  • Partnership Taxation
  • Tax for Individuals
  • Taxation of Estates, Gifts, and Trusts 
  • International Taxation
