MS in International Business

Degree Requirements


From the impact of the EU to China to the influence of culture on marketing and human resources, your degree in International Business will prepare you for global careers.

Courses cover the foundations of business and move into the impact and challenges of business in the global marketplace.

You will complete 21 semester hours that provide a general business foundation upon which your graduate international business degree will be built:

  • Legal and Ethical Environment of Business BUSN6540
  • Analyzing and Interpreting Accounting Information BUSN6550
  • Marketing Management BUSN6560
  • Applied Economics for Managers BUSN6620
  • Financial Management BUSN6640

Some of these courses may be waived based on a course-by-course review of previous coursework. See your advisor​ for details.

The international business core requires 30 semester hours.

Free Elective

Complete three semester hours of international business or other graduate business electives (excluding BUSN prefix courses numbered below 6800).

Advanced Study Requirement

Complete six semester hours of advanced study. This may be is fulfilled by a/an:

  • Master's thesis
  • Internship
  • International business course (listed above) 
  • International field study/study abroad (Graduate level Travel Study Topics with INTB prefix automatically approved, Travel Study Topics without INTB prefix by petition only).

Prior to graduation, you will demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language other than English. This can be accomplished by passing a proficiency exam or completion of three semesters of college level coursework in a single foreign language within the last five years. A grade of "C" or better must be achieved.
