The GEM Program provides comprehensive services for students while they are enrolled as well as after graduation; this includes career resources.  Because of GEM’s strong partnerships with the energy industry, many companies approach GEM with new job opportunities in their organization. Duties & Responsibilities Assist in designing, analyzing, evaluating and coordinating projects on natural gas distribution and transmission systems and related facilities; assist in the analysis of transmission, storage, distribution system or facility capacities; perform economic justification and feasibility studies, provide engineering and technical support to other departments; gather, compile and analyze information and data used in engineering tasks; act as liaison with internal and external sources to ensure familiarity with company functions and operational procedures; and perform other duties as assigned. Work Conditions Requires prolonged use of a computer keyboard. May require: occasional travel (10-20% of time) in both on- and off-road conditions with overnight stays; and working additional hours and weekends to complete projects. May require exposure to high-voltage electricity and chemicals. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge of: engineering principles and practices and computer applications and systems including all Microsoft Office products; and advanced mathematics. Skill in: relating interpersonally with internal and external customers. Ability to: learn about natural gas distribution system design and government regulations relating to natural gas; see objects at close range; analyze and solve complex problems; respond to emergency conditions which may include changing flat tires, chaining up vehicle, operating jack, performing minor maintenance, and operating a two-way radio; respond to internal and external inquiries both in person and by telephone; communicate effectively orally and in writing; communicate and interact effectively with governmental agencies; understand and complete written and oral instructions; prepare proposals, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of grammar and punctuation; contribute to a positive work environment; be courteous to co-workers and customers; follow directions from supervisors; and refrain from abusive or profane language and behavior in the workplace. Requirements Regular attendance; a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering (a degree from an ABET-accredited institution required; successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering or Professional Engineers exam is preferred); natural gas experience is preferred; neat appearance, a valid driver’s license; an acceptable driving record; undergo random drug and/or alcohol testing with satisfactory results subject to DOT and company requirements; and adherence to FERC Order No. 2004 Standards of Conduct and all company policies, including the Questar Corporation Business Ethics and Compliance Policy.

Apex is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the finance and development teams in all aspects of project economic forecasting, including financial modeling of project costs, operating assumptions, cash flows, tax benefits and other incentives, cash and tax equity investment, project debt, and sensitivity analysis. Former experience in modeling utility-scale renewable energy projects required, with a strong background in finance and accounting. Responsibilities: Financial modeling of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Excel Maintain all project models with current and updated assumptions Model economics of project documents, including land leases, IC, EPC/BOP, PPA, O&M, etc. Model financial assumptions and structures (debt, equity, PTC/ITC, grants and other incentives, depreciation benefits, lease financing, partnership flip, etc.) Perform sensitivity analysis on project models Provide narrative analysis on financial models for project financing and investment consideration Compile and maintain support files to justify project assumptions Requirements: Graduate degree with a strong academic record, MBA preferred One to three years minimum of experience in renewable energy industry as a financial analyst Must be willing to relocate to Charlottesville, VA

This position is responsible for providing support to the sales organization through professional representation and presentation of P2ES Solutions (software products, data products and professional services), reviewing, analyzing and responding to requests for information and requests for proposals and designing preliminary scoping of solutions that meet the needs of the P2ES customer. Candidate must be flexible and excited about working in a fast paced company; have proven communication and organizational skills; and be willing and able to focus on both internal and external customer service to meet business needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Participate in the development, implementation and continued support of an integrated software application, business data and map data environment for all demonstrable P2ES products in support of the sales process. Identify, allocate and schedule resources as necessary to support live product demonstrations. Provide logistical support for the Sales organization with the Marketing department in the distribution of electronic marketing material in support of a consistent message to our customers both in form and content. Conduct P2ES product training to Sales Support as necessary and the sales staff as requested. Establish standards for consistent, professional high quality multi-media presentation of P2ES products and services. Maintain a repository for an inventory of all electronic P2ES product presentation material and provide a method for publishing and distributing this information to the Sales organization. Present and prepare briefings/software demonstrations on P2ES software solutions. Analyze customer requirements, including legacy data and systems and recommend solutions that enhance revenues and reduce costs based on P2ES software, spatial data and services. Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs). Assist sales personnel in writing technical and commercial proposals. Up to 30% travel, mostly of a few days duration, is required. Skills/Requirements Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree. 3-5 years experience in upstream oil and gas profession, preferably in Land Management or Division Orders. Extensive knowledge of the Enterprise Upstream, Bolo or Excalibur operations, accounting and/or land software is highly desirable.
