Career Support for Global Energy Management Students and Alumni


The GEM Program provides students with the knowledge, skills and training to advance their career in the energy industry. Our industry contacts as well as our extensive list of students, alumni and faculty from around the world provides GEM with a widespread network of energy companies and professionals who have aided students in securing new career opportunities.

In addition, GEM has partnered with Right Management, a global leader in talent and career management. Together, we provide a robust set of career services and resources to students and alumni in support of their evolving endeavors.

GEM students will receive:

  • Coaching - Individualized career coaching which can be accessed virtually, on campus, or in the Right Management office. Coaching services will encompass important career management needs including but not limited to: building a career management action plan, career decision assistance (stay or leave), career transition, compensation design, and new role assimilation.
  • Executive Webinars - Access to executive webinars (live) including Executive Personal Branding, Executive Networking, and Executive Interviewing Strategies.
  • Technology - Access to Right Management's proprietary Career Management web portals RightCareer™ and RightEverywhere™, which includes iView®: an interviewing practice tool and access to research databases for company and industry research. Also includes Membership to RightManagement's LinkedIn Executive Group.
  • Assessments - Use of a suite of self-awareness assessments will provide an organized method to help you identify your aspirations, values, motivators, interests, accomplishments, and skills and help you present yourself effectively. Key assessments include the Birkman FirstLook, values and Drivers, Strengths Analysis, My Ideal Jon, and Career Map Reports.
  • Networking - Access to various networking events including Executive-networking events, thought teadership events, and community marketing events.

GEM alumni will receive:

  • Coaching - Access to virtual one-on-one coaching appointments within a six month timeframe. Coaching services will encompass important career management needs including but not limited to: building a career management action plan, creating an individualized, high-yield job search action plan, creating an online brand identity, interviewing, negotiating, and on-boarding.
  • Technology - Access to Right Management's proprietary web portal RightEverywhere™, which includes iView®: an interviewing practice tool and access to research databases for company and industry research. Also includes Membership to RightManagement's LinkedIn Executive Group.
