Requirements for Admission
Applicants must have completed an undergraduate program at an accredited United States college or its equivalent in another country. No work experience or formal business education is required for admission. The GMAT is required for admission however, the GRE may be substituted on a case-by-case basis. A GMAT waiver may be considered for an applicant based on a record of extended professional work experience and academic success that demonstrates the quantitative, analytical and verbal skills necessary for success in the CU Denver MBA. For more information, please reference the application packet above.
International applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in written and oral English through the TOEFL or IELTS. Minimum scores:
- TOEFL: 90 (IBT) or 575 (PBT)
- IELTS: 6.5
How Decisions Are Made
The admissions committee considers each candidate’s entire record of achievement. This is demonstrated through:
- Academic transcripts
- GMAT scores
- Required letters of recommendation
- Interviews - by invitation only and may be completed in-person or through a virtual platform
- Work experience and/or extracurricular and community activities
No work experience or formal business education is required for admission. However, professional experience strengthens your application. Candidates with less work experience can show potential through academic and experiential success.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The 2018 cost of tuition is $42,500 regardless of state or country residence. Student fees, textbooks, and the cost of the international flight airfare are not included in the tuition amount. Students can apply for financial aid through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
All CU Denver scholarships are awarded based on merit. The One Year MBA program offers scholarships only for students enrolled in the program. Other scholarship opportunities offered by the CU Denver Business School include the Dean’s Super Merit Scholarship.
