11-Month MBA

Connect to the 11-Month MBA Community

Students in the 11-Month MBA enjoy being connected not only to their peers and professors in the classroom, but also to alumni and the wider business community, locally and abroad.  We know that one of the best ways to learn and find the right professional fit is to talk to other business professionals.  We both invite people to come talk to the class, and we provide opportunities for students to go out and meet people who can help them develop their knowledge and professional connections.

When you work with the same group of people in a focused way for 11-months, you learn a lot about each other.  Yes, you will work hard in order to succeed in the program.  There will also be opportunities to relax and enjoy each other’s company as well.

In the Classroom - Teamwork
One of the top qualities employers look for in candidates is the ability to work effectively in a team. The 11-Month MBA not only prepares you to work on demanding, productive, and diverse teams, but to lead them.  To succeed in the 11-Month MBA, you have to thrive in fast-paced, intensive and demanding situations.

Strong motivation, a high energy level, good time management skills and strong self-discipline are hallmarks of our students. We teach you to lead and contribute to a professional work team.  Teams maximize the learning experience through peer dialogue, interaction and support.

Benefits of Teams:

  • Demonstrate what you are capable of to potential employers.
  • Extended interaction with your team enhances learning and supports sharing of knowledge.
  • Diversity within teams allows you to interact with those who possess different perspectives and expertise.
  • Provide a support mechanism allowing you to maintain your commitment to your MBA and your life.
  • Build strong bonds with team members that last beyond graduation.

Outside the Classroom
Our location in the heart of downtown Denver means you are literally a short walk or shuttle ride from dozens of great places to dine, shop, be entertained, and socialize.  Each cohort forms a Social Committee that is given a budget to sponsor group social outings throughout the course of the program.  Previous social committees have funded bowling nights, intramural sports teams, picnics, and ski trips, to name a few.

Located in the heart of downtown Denver, the 11-Month MBA program offers a variety of avenues for interaction with the vibrant local business community.

While the structure and content varies from year to year based on the interests of students in the cohort and the needs and availability of local businesses, engagement with the business community has included a variety of networking opportunities, business collaborations, and business case studies

Business collaborations are live projects where students work with local businesses doing relevant work to explore current and cutting edge issues facing businesses today.  Collaborations have ranged from connecting individual students with appropriate local organizations with a relevant project to case studies involving the entire cohort in a multi-faceted, large-scale business problem/case.

Topics have included:

  • New product development
  • Identifying emerging markets
  • Business process outsourcing
  • Global mergers and growth
  • Revenue modeling

The 11-Month MBA alumni network is active in providing help and encouragement to students. In addition to sharing advice and serving as class mentors, alumni also connect students to the business community.

Our 11-Month MBA alumni work at large companies such as GE, Accenture and Lockheed Martin, and a lot of smaller companies that are more regionally based. They have experience in every sector and are currently engaged in a range of endeavors, including:

Among the most valuable assets you gain in graduate school are professional relationships and connections with the business community.

What do our Alumni say about the 11-Month MBA program?

Denver is a wonderful city for work or play.  The Mile High City is consistently voted one of the best areas to live.  We have over 300 days of sunshine each year and wonderful mountains for hiking in summer and skiing in winter.

We have the nation’s largest public park system, major sports teams representing nearly all professional sports, great museums, and the largest performing arts center outside of New York City - so there are always fun things to see and do!

For the past five years, Denver has ranked in the top 10 for business growth (which is great for MBA’s).  Denver International Airport (DIA) is a great way to stay connected to the world.
