The pervasive reality of risk affects all individuals and organizations. In the aftermath of recent financial and natural crises, the difference between success and failure increasingly depends on a firm’s ability to effectively manage risk to enhance firm value.

The RMI Concentration within the Finance emphasis provides a specific focus on insurance products and their use in mitigating risk in commercial and personal situations.  

Careers in Risk Management and Insurance may include, Underwriter, Claims Adjuster, Sales Manager, Risk Manager, Broker, and Risk Consultant or Analyst.

Risk Management and Insurance Specialization

There are four parts to a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Finance emphasis and a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance

  • Practical Enterprise Risk Management
  • Life and Health Insurance
  • Property and Casualty Insurance
  • Corporate Risk Management

Community college students who have satisfactorily completed the Associate of Arts with a Business Emphasis are guaranteed credit for all Guaranteed Transfer courses, reducing the number of necessary credits to be completed within the Business School.  Please see the listing of courses that typically need to be completed by community college students who have completed their Associates of Arts degree.
