The CU Denver Business School offers a variety of scholarships to help you finance your graduate degree. We offer scholarships based on need and others based on academic accomplishment. Our scholarships are funded by alumni, donors, members of the Colorado business community, and the State of Colorado, to help you get the best education possible.
The scholarships listed here are offered through the CU Denver Business School. However, there may be more available through the Scholarship Office and other sources.
You must be admitted into the Graduate Business School prior to applying for scholarships.
Financial Need Based Scholarships: Those scholarships requiring demonstrated financial need require domestic applicants to submit a completed FAFSA to the financial aid office and international students to complete the budget sheet provided in the scholarship portal prior to applying for the scholarship.

- Choose the “Student” tab
- Click the "Student Center" link under "Financial Aid"
- Click “Scholarship Application” in the Student Center
- Click "Continue to Page Two"
Note: There is no submit button. Once you have saved your application it will be uploaded into the application pool. You have up until the deadline date to make changes to your application.
If you meet the requirements of the scholarship, the application link will appear in your portal, however some scholarships require you to be enrolled in specific academic subplans or have a specific test score or GPA. You may be eligible to apply but not eligible to receive the award due to these requirements.

Did you know achieving a top GMAT score can earn you a unique scholarship of up to $5,000 over two semesters? Interested?
The Dean’s Super Merit Scholarship is offered through the Business School Graduate Admissions Office and is available to domestic and international newly admitted students who meet the eligibility requirements listed below.
This scholarship is highly competitive and qualification is based upon GMAT score and timing of registration; with early registration and high GMAT scores receiving award priority.
Eligibility
You must
- Have earned an official GMAT total score of:
- 680-710 for an award of up to $3,000
- 720-800 for an award of up to $5,000
- Register for at least 6 credits
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 to continue on the scholarship in your second semester
Scholarships will be awarded on a first-registered, first-awarded basis until the funds for that semester are exhausted. Therefore, apply and register as soon as possible to increase your chances of receiving this prestigious award.

Email your name, student ID, courses for which you have registered, and your GMAT Total Score to grad.business@ucdenver.edu as soon as you have registered for the semester.
Deadlines
- You must apply for the scholarship and be registered by June 15 to be considered for fall semester.
- You must apply for the scholarship and be registered by November 15 to be considered for spring semester awards.
- There are no awards for the summer term.

MBA
Based on academic accomplishment and evidence of integrity, leadership, teamwork, self‐motivation and personal responsibility.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international graduate business students.
- Must be enrolled in an MBA Program. Current 11‐Month MBA students are not eligible for these awards.
- First‐semester graduate students must have a cumulative Undergrad GPA of 3.4 or higher and continuing MBA Program students must have a cumulative Graduate GPA of 3.4 or higher.
- International students must have a TOEFL score of 575 or higher.
- Preferred candidates will provide evidence of demonstrated integrity, leadership, teamwork, self‐motivation and personal responsibility.
- Domestic students must complete FAFSA prior to applying for this scholarship. International students must complete a “Budget Sheet”, which is available through the scholarship application portal.
Special Essay: How will the scholarship help you to achieve your program of study and career goals?

Accounting
Based on demonstrated financial need and academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international students.
- Must be in the MS Accounting program.
- Must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Must demonstrate financial need (as determined by the financial aid office). Domestic students must complete FAFSA prior to applying for this scholarship. International students must complete a “Budget Sheet”, which is available through the scholarship application portal.

Entrepreneurship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international graduate business students.
- Must be enrolled in at least one ENTP course in the semester for which you are applying
- Domestic students must complete FAFSA prior to applying for this scholarship. International students must complete a “Budget Sheet”, which is available through the scholarship application portal.
Special Essay: Limit to 500 words or fewer:
Why do you think entrepreneurship is important and what role do you hope for it to play in your future? Be sure to indicate if you have involvement in civic or social nonprofit organization, plan to earn a Certificate or Specialization in Entrepreneurial Studies or are in pursuit of excellence in business, business ownership, novel idea development or tech transfer.
Amount Awarded:$500 - $1,000 per ENTP course enrolled per term
Duration of the Award: One semester. Recipients may reapply in subsequent terms for reconsideration.
Awards: Students applying for entrepreneurship scholarships will be considered for the following awards: Coulter Foundation Award, Dean’s Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship, Mehalchin Scholarship, Mordecai Scholarship, and Harry Trueblood Scholarship.

Decision Sciences
To recognize the academic performance of students in the MS Decision Sciences program.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international graduate business students.
- Must be in the Decision Sciences program.
- First‐semester graduate students must have a cumulative Undergrad GPA of 3.6 or higher and continuing Decision Sciences students must have a cumulative Graduate GPA of 3.6 or higher.
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 to receive second and third disbursement.
- Only one award is made per academic year.
Special Essay: What are the important strengths of Decision Sciences in practical business applications? What are their limitations?
Amount Awarded: Up to $1,500 per semester

To support MS students in Decision Science and to recognize academic performance in the program.
Eligibility Criteria:

To award women graduate students in Finance with demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility Criteria:

To benefit promising students entering the MS in Finance Program.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international graduate students
- Must be a first‐semester MS Finance student.
- Must have a cumulative Undergrad GPA of 3.6 or higher.
- Must have a minimum GMAT score of 550 and have a quantitative percentile of 50 percent or higher.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to both domestic and international graduate students
- Must be in the MS Management program.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- International students must have a TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
- Students who've completed fewer than 15 UC Denver graduate credit hours must have a min GMAT of 600 and a 3.5 undergraduate GPA. Students who have completed 15 UC Denver graduate hours or more must have a 3.5 or higher graduate GPA.
