Mission/Vision
The Bard Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a new idea
laboratory that educates and empowers graduates to act entrepreneurially. We
foster an open and diverse environment that emphasizes multidisciplinary
experiential learning, facilitated by a highly engaged faculty. Our
relationships with business leaders and successful entrepreneurs further expand
opportunities for students to research, assess, present, and execute ideas
whether for a new business or to revitalize mature organizations in response to
a perceived opportunity. The Bard Center
is also a “happening” place where business leaders, faculty, students, and
entrepreneurs are welcome to drop in and enjoy a stimulating
conversation in the new Business School building.
Background
The Richard H. and Pamela S. Bard Center for Entrepreneurship was
established in 1996 to foster economic development in the Denver metropolitan
area. Richard and Pamela Bard’s generous endowment turned their dream into a
reality, creating a program that prepares future leaders for success in any
business venture. Celebrating our 16th year, more than 2,500 students have
participated in Bard Center programs, making it the largest
University-associated entrepreneurship center in.
As part of the Business School at the University of Colorado
Denver—the largest AACSB accredited business school in the state—the Bard
Center fosters and promotes new business opportunities, advancing the teaching,
study and practice of entrepreneurship and new venture creation. The Bard
Center offers graduate-level courses taught by the best Business School faculty
and by outside professionals working in a wide range of entrepreneurial areas.
The Center provides students with opportunities to create partnerships with the
business community through academics, mentoring and programs designed to foster
innovation and entrepreneurial development.
Located on the fifth floor of the new Business School Building, the Bard Center has grown rapidly over the past 16 years and has gained a nationwide reputation for excellence, as well as having become the only place in downtown Denver where high quality innovative thinking occurs.
