It is a living document that helps you plan for the future, measure your achievements, manage your risks, and stay focused. Investing the time in formal business planning will help you to:

Clarify what you want to achieve and the details of how you will achieve your objectives, such as financing, budgeting, and market planning.

Develop a clear understanding of your customers, stakeholders, strengths and competition.

Identify the resources (human, financial, partnerships, etc) that will be needed for successful implementation of the plan, helping you to avoid mistakes and recognize hidden opportunities.

Serve as a basis for discussion with third parties such as supporters, partners, foundations, agencies, investors etc.

Allow you to be more successful in raising funds and mobilizing support by demonstrating your due diligence and a proof of concept.

Measure the organization’s performance in order to manage it more successfully and demonstrate organizational effectiveness to outside parties.

To give your organization the best possible chance for success.
