Recently Denver was ranked the eleventh most sustainable city in the United States by Featured on their website is a summary of work completed by researchers at the University of Colorado Denver in conjunction with the City of Denver to calculate the city’s expanded greenhouse gas inventory. Press Release on Conducting an Expanded Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the City of Denver
On August 9, 2008 a press release titled, “UC Denver Greenhouse Gas project provides Denver first-of-its-kind carbon footprint” was released to the media by the University of Colorado Denver. The article highlights the fact that the GHG inventory conducted for Denver by UCD researchers resulted in pioneering the first-ever expanded carbon footprint computation for an entire city and contributed to the Mile-High City’s comprehensive climate action plan. Channel 2 KWGN News in Denver will be running a story soon featuring an interview with Dr. Anu Ramaswami, lead investigator of the project.

Beginning Summer 2008, researchers at University of Colorado Denver Program for Sustainable Urban Infrastructure began conducting a greenhouse gas emissions inventory for Central City, Colorado a small gaming and resort town.
