Bio: Ms. Samano
serves as the Buechner Institute for Governance’s (BIG) and the School of
Public Affairs’ (SPA) training coordinator. She has coordinated meetings and
conferences from one to ten days in duration for federal and state agencies,
cities, groups and organizations. Clients include the City and County of
Denver, EPA, Colorado Department of Transportation, Commerce City and the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Among her
duties at the University of Colorado Denver are coordinating recruitment,
marketing, and logistics for the Rocky Mountain Leadership Program, Denver
Community Leadership Forum and the Certified Public Manager certificate
program. She also does the planning for the annual Water Quality Forum Retreat
held in Colorado; coordinating a luncheon event featuring former Ambassador and
author Dennis Ross; and, the largest fundraising event for the School of Public
Affairs, the 18 year old Investment in Excellence Dinner. In the fall of 2004, she
also coordinated the Denver Community Leadership Forum’s 20 year anniversary
luncheon. More than 200 people attended.
Ms. Samano, a member of the
Society of Government Meeting Professionals since 1995, has been the Program
Committee Chair, Secretary, past 1st Vice President of the Board of
Directors, and past Chair of the Fall Education Conference Committee. She is a
graduate of the Denver Community Leadership Forum, class of 2000, and holds a
BA in Communication and Theatre from the University of Colorado Denver.
